the thing - I was an atheist for about half my life, so I already know how they think. I believed in evolution. I did the college thing and I know the typical response that so-called "educated" atheists give. I was one of them.

I was raised as a jw and was one until about 7 years ago I'm in my 60s now and then I started to read the bible properly and do some independent research into the story's and history of the bible, its fascinating how the bible evolved into what it is today and now I'm a atheist, you should read the bible with a open and honest mind and remove the god glasses and forget about god magic and then you we see that the bible is the uninspired word of man.

f a person feels threatened by truth, it's because that "threatened" person's conscience is bothering them. It has nothing to do with the person who stated the truth, although the typical response from a person who is in denial is to blame the messenger.

The truth of the matter is that nobody has provided any evidence that jesus existed, so why should my conscience bother me that's the truth of the matter.

All scriptures are inspired of god and beneficial for teaching, reproving and setting things straight.

If god inspired these men with such a important message about his son and the future of mankind, you would think he would have made sure that their story's all match up and no contradictions ,and would have made sure that the message was clear and understandable with no ambiguity and the original copys were preserved for our day.

What swayed me most about the authenticity of the Gospel accounts are their contents. I have read lots of books before, but they were special. Very few contradictions and some excellent advice and moral guidance in there. And as for the theory that a disciple or groups of disciples came together and sucked all of it out their thumbs is somewhat hard to swallow. And as already discussed, to be willing to die for a big lie is highly unlikely from a human standpoint.
